Erica
Groeneveld always had a big passion for music. As a
small child, she grew up with music, which resulted
in her very first “showbiz moment” at age
10, when she won a children’s lip-sync contest
on Dutch TV, called the “Miniplaybackshow”,
imitating Gloria Estefan.. |

During
high-school she participated in a large number of amateur-musicals,
auditions and workshops which, in 1998, led to Frank Sanders’
Musical Academy (in Amsterdam), where she was accepted
to the school. However, she declined in order to tour
through Holland, Belgium and Lebanon from 1998-1999 with
the American Tribal Love-Rock musical HAIR. |
After
finishing this tour, Erica performed with “La
Dolce Vita”, a small band, on weddings and parties
for over a year and this was followed by several projects
like QUATRO, a children’s TV quiz and resulting
from that, the girl-formation Q-Fource. In addition
to writing songs with her colleagues for this Girl-group,
she also was the girls' vocal-, image-, and dancecoach. |

From
2000 to 2004, she played the lead-role (“Nicky”)
in a Wine, Dine and Party concept called “Barcelona”
for Wentink Events and from 2002 to2004 she performed
as a Princess in “de Wonderlijke Eftelingshow”
in de Efteling (also by Wentink Events), which in 2003,
received a Big E Award for best show worldwide in an amusement
park. |
Also
from 2002 until today, Erica is the female singer of
all C&A Clothing TV-commercials in the Netherlands
and in addition, she does backing vocals for colleagues
& friends, and performs regularly as leadsinger
for various live bands, such as Goodfellas
and Too
Hot To Handle. |

Recently,
she and her good friend & colleague Michiel van Zundert
teamed up with a whole bunch of other very talented musicians
to work on the debut album ('COOK YOUR WOOFERS') of "SPECTALICIOUS",
which was initiated and completely written by Michiel.
On this album (available now in stores and online all
around the world!) filled with disco-funky popsongs, Erica
sings all the vocals and she also co-wrote 5 songs of
the album. |
In 2006, Erica and her colleagues (and great singers) Debbie Helaha, Jozien van Dorst and Michèle Karamat Ali, came up with the idea of putting together a commercial tape act, consisting of temporary dance- and popsongs. This resulted in FEMATIC, on which the four ladies are currently working very hard. .
Since September 2008, she is also a member of TOP 2000 LIVE , where, as one of the leadsingers, she shares the stage with Dutch artists Esther Hart, Martin van der Starre, Ferry van Leeuwen, Forrest and many others, accompanied by a large band existing of 8 of Holland's finest musicians.
